WHAT IS GOING ON IN THIS WORLD THE EBOLA DEAD COMEDY LEGENDS AND SO MUCH MORE!

Am I alone in this? This Tom Frieden who heads the CDC is doing a really horrible job at a crucially important time on our planet re: the Ebola outbreak. Every time he has a press conference, his facts keep shifting, he's full of excuses and finger pointing. His office just gave permission for that feverish, infected nurse to get on a commercial airplane and very possibly infect others -- not just on that flight, but for everyone who boarded that plane, and all the people who boarded other planes and possibly contaminated other, etc... They allowed this feverish nurse whose patient just died, whose co-worker contracted the virus to freely travel to other parts of the country and put in jeopardy all the people she encountered in airports and elsewhere in-between.

To me, on the Evening News, this Frieden guy looks like he's covering his #$%$ rather than leading the way to contain this. He seems to have originally felt it was "something over there" and easily containable, and the situation is quickly getting completely out of control.
He is not alone in his callousness and ineptitude. There seems to be an epidemic in Washington of mediocre people in charge of critically important posts. I suppose, as seems to be the case in our entire broken, self-serving government system, it goes back to political influence and cronyism. The best, most effective people are pushed aside by so-so candidates with friends in high places.

Now it is a matter of life and death -- the well being of everyone I know is being jeopardized -- and I can't just sit here anymore and be silent.

I was a staunch Obama supporter in both elections, but time and time and time again his chosen department heads have been CLEARLY asleep at the wheel. The idiot that rushed the Obamacare website and only fixed it after it was a complete clusterf-ck. Don;t get me started on friggin' Covered California -- consumer phone line wait time was TWO HOURS the other day -- and they still could;t fix what they'd screwed up until Wendy and I sat on the phone for nearly a week!

Our nation's Secret Service having drug and sex parties and, even their new boss, letting some mentally ill guy with a knife hop the White House fence and jog all the way into the heart of the building without apprehending him nor even unleashing the attack dogs? Great that our economy has turned around -- unfortunately a great number of my unemployed friends who've given up would agree. And the poor women in our military? The rape rate against our women in uniform -- and the lack of prosecution for these crimes -- is horrifying.
Obama looks to me like a guy who can't wait for his term to be over, as though if he addresses every crucial matter affecting our country with bandaids, the burden of actually solving these huge problems will land in the next President's watch. He'd clearly rather be out laughing with buddies on a golf course with news cameras all around to show us. Hey, Russia's bulldozing its sovereign neighbors at will? let's put some more economic sanctions on 'em. All that does is makes the Russian people -- who are to a great degree fed only what Putin wants them to know -- just hate us more for making their lives harder.
What the hell is going on?

Attacking Isis only from the air and keeping fingers crossed that the scared, ragtag, poorly trained militias are going to somehow stand up to a ruthless, destructive force that has walked through the Middle East at will is clearly the absolute wrong decision. Our country also knew about the #$%$ in the 1930's, #$%$umed they were a little band of bad guys and figured locals would stand against them. And then, only in the 40's when country after country was falling to Hitler, FDR finally came around. If we had had some courage and had stomped out the #$%$ in the 30's before they were a juggernaut, it would have been a much less lethal fight for this country and the world. A lot more of my fellow Jews would certainly still be alive.

Isis is steamrolling in every direction across the Middle East and m#$%$ raping and killing anyone who isn't Isis. Occasionally we get video game-esque snippets on the news of some truck being blown off the street by our fighter planes, but the people on the ground are screaming that it's ineffective. The Islamic army was able to rise up in the power vacuum left when we prematurely withdrew our troops -- and right under our noses. Even our generals who would have to put their men and women in danger know that airstrikes alone aren't gonna make a worthy dent in the crisis.

There is still time for Obama and his appointees to rein these in, but it takes more than "Hope." It takes action and courage and sacrifice. It takes forethought. It takes really loving your country and humanity at large and foregoing that golf match and that Hawaiian vacation to effectively lead this nation. I am so disappointed and, like so many of my friends, enraged with politics as usual. I'm really tired of our President reminding us of how bad things were when he took office and spouting his short resume of worthy accomplishments, primarily from his first term.
